How Can I Use Color Magick to Improve My Life?

Are you one of the savvy few who use modern color magic?

Every color has its own story, it’s only Lors and legends in cultures throughout the world. When you learn how to harness the psychological impact of color, you can also gain a tremendous amount of insight into how to use those colors in treating your own mental health with self soothing and meditation.

Various color shades also have physical reactions on our bodies, as well. When you learn to harness the magic of the colors all around you, you can see things in a whole new light.

Czech-Bohemian Folk Art: Wish Bracelets!

We have here two very beautiful, delicate bracelets made from gemstone, crystal, and perla glass beads strung on very thin elastic cord.

These are wish bracelets, designed to boost your meditative powers for a time. These are delicate pieces that are meant to be worn until breaking — it is then time to speak your desire to the universe (think of it as simply making a wish or saying a prayer).

When the bracelet breaks, you can take up as many of the beads as you can find — especially the meditation stone, also known as a touchstone — try to keep that one! You can give any or all beads away to others, or keep some to add to your own personal amulet collection.

All of the beads on everything in the shop are enchanted for a variety of purposes. These beads have been enchanted for protection and an easier removal of obstacles.

Ivory magnesite Buddha bracelet measures 6 (or almost 8 stretched) inches. It is made with gorgeous czech glass perlas in a starshaya sestra pattern in shades of black and gold, double-strung on our thinnest elastic cord.

Wood and Bohemian crystal skull bracelet measures 6 (or almost 8 stretched) inches. Composed of wood, perlas, and crystal, the piece is finished with a Bohemian crystal skull meditation stone. This bracelet is single-string on our thinnest elastic, so it is super stretchy and very delicate!

Tricolor Cannabis-Themed Beaded Necklace with Gems

Frannie from SpiritClique recently completed her latest art project. We love this fun beaded necklace — just in time for spring! Check out more of SpiritClique’s spiritual lapidary art at the SpiritClique Etsy shop.

My first step was to create the color palette.  I went with a standard tricolor here because I wanted something bold and festive, that would show the gleam of the stainless steel off to its best advantage!

The color yellow has a deeply spiritual vibration that is interpreted in similar ways throughout human culture. As the color we most associate with the sun, yellow symbolizes life, renewal, and community. People with a yellow aura tend to be friendly, strong, and (despite the western’s association between yellow and cowardice) bravery.

Red is often associated with the planet Mars, plus all the strength and creativity that comes with it. In China, red is strongly associated with good fortune. In the western world, we associate it with physical strength, passion, and power. It’s no wonder that people with a red aura have a strong and vibrant life force!

Many cultures attribute qualities like healing, fertility, and relaxation with green. It has been proven that the color green can help people center their thoughts and get to a more logical place mentally. It’s also associated with the earth, plant life, and the heart chakra. Green aura bearers are naturally loving, brought to earth as healers and helpers. Green is a lucky color, combining the energy of yellow and the tranquility of blue. And of course, it’s the color of American money and cannabis — making it a great choice for this project.

These three colors together can symbolize many things. Lots of cultures use this color combination of red, yellow, and green: Pan-African culture, Rastafarian spirituality, Malaysian traditions, as well as the flag of the Lithuanian people.

As a proponent of medical cannabis and a person of Lithuanian ancestry, this color combo has a special place in my heart! I chose to use lemon-yellow micro beads for this project because I had a lot of leftovers from my ongoing khokhloma project — but also, I wanted the piece to be warm and summery. Plus, making yellow the dominant color in my palette removes any assumption that this is a Christmas necklace. Not that the weed focal isn’t also a huge tip-off. :)

Beads. I chose sunny yellow Czech micro beads (11/0) for this project. And may I say, the 11/0 size is starting to become a fav to work with. :) Green crystal bicones and shimmery metallic Czech glass beads add more body and diversity to the piece.

Metals. My chosen focal is a cannabis silhouette glyph made of brushed stainless steel. I love using steel in my pieces because it’s tough as hell, easy to care for, and fun to work with. Mars is the planetary correspondence of iron, and it’s also my main ruling planet. Iron is also the metal correspondence of Aries, which is my zodiac sign. And of course, as a daughter of miners, steel makers, and iron workers... it’s a perfect medium for me!

Gemstones. Because I’m working around a cannabis theme, I decided to choose two types of gemstones to represent the two basic weed types: soothing indica and invigorating sativa.

Flanking the cannabis focal are three beads made of natural shell dyed in red, yellow, and green — these are my soothing indica stones. Mother of Pearl is a fantastic choice for organic jewelry. Associated with the moon, throat chakra and solar plexus chakra (especially in yellow and green!), these ethereal shells are also linked with the psychic realm. It’s a wonderfully healing gem for people with anxiety or those who need healing in negativity-filled situations.

My sativa choice just had to be the lively, energy infusing emerald! I added about a carat of emerald beads to the center of this piece, keeping it close to the heart chakra to add all that fab green energy. Emerald is one of my favorite gemstones to use for its fun loving and exciting vibe. It’s the birthstone of May as well as a gemstone of Taurus. It is one of the world’s most precious gemstones (along with diamond, ruby, and sapphire). Many old-world religions strongly associated emeralds with love, more so than virtually any other jewel. And it’s no wonder — the emerald reflects the green power of the heart chakra. Emeralds can help us rediscover passions for people and things that seem a little boring; it helps to heal depression, raise self-esteem, and invigorate the soul.

I also have this piece in a white/blue combination with howlite! But that’s a story for another time.

What Are the Birthstones for Each Month?

picture of a Ruby — birthstone of July

Did you know that there is more than one birthstone for each month? Traditional stones were established for centuries. But when retailers got involved to try to increase sales, they invented modern “equivalents” that are based on nothing except what extras they had in stock and wanted to unload.

Tiffany & Co printed a now-famous pamphlet of birthstone poems, which were totally inaccurate, in order to sell more gems. It was full of poems detailing the birthstones and their powers, credited to an “unknown author,” ostensibly someone in the marketing department to cash in on these traditions.

January’s birthstone is garnet.

February’s birthstones are amethyst, pearl, and zircon.

March’s birthstones are aquamarine, bloodstone, and jasper.

April’s birthstones are diamond, sapphire, and mystic topaz.

May’s birthstones are agate, emerald, and chrysoprase.

June’s birthstones are agate, alexandrite, cat’s eye, moonstone, pearl, and turquoise.

July’s birthstones are carnelian, onyx, ruby, and turquoise.

August’s birthstones are carnelian, moonstone, peridot, sardonyx, spinel, and moonstone.

September’s birthstones are chrysolite, lapis, and sapphire.

October’s birthstones are aquamarine, opal, and tourmaline.

November’s birthstones are citrine, pearl, and topaz.

December’s birthstones are bloodstone, lapis, ruby, turquoise, and zircon.

Although most birthstones were pretty well-established by the 1400s, modern jewelers have altered the traditions by inventing new birthstones for the months. There aren’t any real reasons for this spiritually speaking — it was just a marketing ploy to sell more of certain gems. Therefore, don’t worry too much about it. The powers are inside of you, and you’ll intuitively know which crystal should be yours!

Amber’s Magickal Properties and Spiritual Power

Baltic amber has been a crucial part of spiritual work among the Vedma pagan culture for thousands of years, as the gems collected from the salty beaches of the Baltic Sea are rich with healing, anti-inflammatory properties. It is venerated within many circles in both modern and historical spirituality.

Amber is said to help with pain, stress, and other physical or mental ailments. It’s especially helpful for respiratory issues, such as asthma. Amber is prized for its beauty and range of stunning colors — rich honeys and caramels, flaming oranges and sunny yellows. These shades link amber with the Root Chakra (responsible for sustaining life force & reproduction) and the Solar Plexus Chakra (ruling over personality and self-expression).

The Value of Amber: How Much Is It Worth?

Amber is a gorgeous honey-colored gemstone. While technically a wood resin, amber holds its own with the best and brightest jewels and minerals in the world.

Country artisans have used time-honored techniques to carve and shape this mysterious substance. Families in the artisanal Baltic amber trade pass down secrets from one generation of craftspeople to the next — turning already stunning natural amber into beads, cabochons, and other objects of beauty. However, amber is fragile. Unless stored and maintained properly, small pieces can become brittle or wear down.

Even the simplest of amber creations can rival the most ethereal gems in value. Clearer amber is worth more, but gemstones that contain well preserved specimens of prehistoric living things can fetch a pretty penny. In some parts of the world, a gram of fine amber is so rare that it can fetch a better price than gold.

What are the different birthstones for each month?

Crystals and jewels

Did you know that there is more than one birthstone for each month? Traditional stones were established for centuries. But when retailers got involved to try to influence the sale of certain jewels... the traditions changed. Here’s a list of all the stones which correspond to each month. Enjoy!

Light Workers, Indigo Children & the Galactic Federation of Light

Is it true?  Maybe.  It's interesting to think about. :)

The Galactic Federation of Light possesses technological advances that are extraordinarily ahead of our own. They see how the universe functions and the way of our world. They have a significant understanding of awareness and how to fuse its utilization with their own technological advances.

All things considered, their understanding on the exact fabric of our universe permits them to travel through time and space with great ease. Additionally, they can replicate anything from virtually nothing, basically by utilizing replicators that can reassemble molecules and particles. It is additionally possibly that these beings can allow things to manifest simply by the use of their conscious will.

The Galactic Federation of Light is a united alliance of spiritual creatures from a remote part of the universe, a large number of which resemble humans.

The Galactic Federation of Light come from other planes where they draw upon divine forces to promote better, more peaceful life. They are thought to be loving and delight in working for the advancement of others within the universe. They are even often prepared to lay down their own lives for the well-being of other beings.

These beings are far different from more sinister forces, whose purpose is to drain energies and harm others, causing disharmony and annihilation in their wake.

Those within Galactic Federation of Light comprehend the unity of all.  They dwell in a state which is known as "Full Consciousness" which is a multi-dimensional awareness that connects us all.

People on Earth are still limited in our perception and many of us have limited ability to understand the oneness which connects us all.  However, we are slowly evolving to have this consciousness returned to us.

Earth with her occupants is continuously viewed as a young planet by our more advanced human siblings of the Galactic Federation. Our more established space siblings are diligently taking care of us, their family, to assist us in advancing to the era which is known as the Ascension.

Despite the fact that the Galactic Federation of Light is here to support people throughout this exciting time, they are for the most part prohibited to meddle with the choices that we make. Their plan is to make us gradually aware of their presence.

Thusly, many of these very developed entities from the Galactic Federation of Light have been born here on Earth and live among us to help and to heal us, and to provide us with information about this universal consciousness.

Our world is seen by these beings as a world much like the Orion. It is viewed as a planet of darkness, though we do have some light as well.  The Federation is attempting to further illuminate us and help us to reach our fullest potential.

Those on Earth who are incarnated in order to help the planet now, must bring about more lightwork into this world, both now and in their future incarnations, so that we will be prepared for the Ascension.

These lightworkers are often known as Indigo people or Indigo children.  There are other names as well -- Crystal Children, Star Seeds, Wanderers.  These people are thought to be highly evolved humans which have celestial ties to the Galactic Federation of Light which are often yet unknown to them.

The Forces of Light are comprised of very advanced souls.  A number of these are presently on earth, either incarnated as humans, or in their spiritual form.  Among these are emissaries from the Angelic Hierarchy or the ascended Masters of the Federation who assist us here on Earth.

For quite a while the Galactic Federation of Light have continually postponed their intentions for First Contact due to a threat of mass obliteration at the hands of the Orion faction if First Contact occurs.

The Halo: Crystal Grid Layout for Head Pain, Migraines & Headaches

As promised, here's another crystal grid layout for you!  I call this one "The Halo" for pretty obvious reasons. :)  I have illustrated it with round circles to represent your gemstones.  If you have pointy crystals to use, those would be just fine.  Remember to lay the crystals so that the points face outward, though!  Otherwise, your standard polished/tumbled crystal gemstones will work perfectly here.

I would always recommend using three amethysts for headaches and migraines; not only has it been typically carried and used for such ailments for thousands of years, the color purple also corresponds to the crown chakra which is just where we want to concentrate on when pain occurs in the head.  You can also use indigo stones like lapis if you would prefer to do so.  (Use what you like -- I happen to like amethyst!)  Place two just above the sides of your head, and add one to your forehead.

You'll need two orange stones as well.  I also recommend using orange or brown agate, or perhaps tourmaline to represent the sacral chakra, which is a great source of fortification for pain management.  Place them just above your eyebrows.  Agate is well known for its healing properties, and pain soothing attributes.  I'd try to find some agate first, but tourmalines are also wonderful healing stones.

Thirdly, turquoise stones are required -- you will need two of them.  They should go directly underneath the amethysts which are laid around your head.  Turquoise is great for its uplifting and positive energy, as well as its protective properties.

Q&A: Aura Photo Analysis

Hi, everyone! :)

Exciting news here.  A couple of weeks ago, one of my readers sent in a great picture of his aura for me to analyze! I am flattered that someone trusts me enough to ask for my opinion. (I have blurred his face, just to protect the innocent! LOL) In the last few years, I've learned a thing or two about auras, so I am thrilled to give it a try!

The first thing I look for when analyzing an aura is the patterns that it contains. (The color is important, of course, but we'll get to that later.) This is a beautiful example of a banded aura! You can notice how the prevailing color (blue) is intercepted a few times with some horizontal violet and turquoise streaks. Banded aura bearers tend to be emotionally sensitive, and very perceptive of their surroundings. They also have an unconventional way of looking at the world, tend to be open-minded, but enjoy blazing their own paths and forging ahead their own way.  That isn't to say that this young man doesn't appreciate tradition, but he's likely to enjoy learning about all sorts of different ways of doing things, gathering as much information as possible before making up his own mind about the best way for him.

After we see the pattern, we can then analyze the colors that are contained within.  At first glance, you may say "Well, OK, blue and some bits of purple," but look closer!  Yes, the prevalent colors in this aura are cool blues and violets. But notice all of the different shades of blue, indigo, violet, turquoise!  These shades all belong to the cooler air/water realm, and underscore his sensitivity and perceptive abilities which can be used in conjunction with a strong logical mind and love for details. The deeper blue represents a quiet confidence, strong but not too pushy or aggressive. He's more of a constitutionally strong person, as opposed to one of those aggressive tough guys... he can keep his wits about him long after the meat-heads have gone home! ;)  There is also a lot of emotional strength here, with the ability to help calm other people by his mere presence. This guy would be fabulous in any profession which involves person-to-person interaction, problem solving, or helping others in distress as he's got the cool head combined with the natural strength that can make others feel at ease quickly. The turquoise shade suggests further that there is the natural ability for healing and helping, as well as a high energy level that can deplete quickly if not adequately addressed. This may mean that he dreams big, but doesn't always know how to complete the vision -- but the purple addition can help him find his way through a tougher life issue by instinct.  All purples signify a dignified and gracious personality, but I'm seeing a brighter violet which suggests to me a strong sense of vision, lots of dreams, and some psychic potential as well.

This is the first time that a reader has asked me to analyze an aura before, but I sure hope it isn't the last!  Hopefully, I've been able to provide some insight.  Thanks, "D," for giving me the chance to have a look at it! :)

What 'Unusual' Aura Colors Mean

While most people's auras contain a few different colors, there are also some important shades or patterns that don't really fit the standard mold.  Each aura is unique, and aura patterns can contain many different shades.  Some of these colors are explored here.

It is said that a mixture of mud-colored brown, dark grey, and light pink together have been seen in people with a serious or terminal illness, or other fatal condition.  Try some aura cleansing rituals to soothe and protect your spiritual health too.

Metallic shades are also present in the auras.  Silver streaks or spots are said to represent truth-seekers, or those wishing for guidance from God and other spiritual sources.  Gold indicates an extremely sensitive and highly aware individual.  Copper is usually seen in people who spend a lot of time outdoors or with environmental jobs (forestry, mining, farming).  One person has told me that a zinc-colored hue, which is similar to gold, but lighter in color, is often seen around genitals or sexual organs, but especially during arousal.

Off-white shades and pastels are frequently seen.  While white itself indicates the presence of a spiritual guardian, off-white such as cream or ivory indicates that someone is devoted to a path of higher spirituality, and that they are progressing accordingly.  Pearl and pearly shades are the hallmark of mediums or others who are highly in tune with the spiritual presences which surround us.  Ivory is the shade of someone who seeks goodness and truth, but is also adept at communicating those ideas to others and may serve as a great influence to others.

The meaning of different aura colors can also be found individually when the colors are mixed.  Most people have varying aura patterns to reflect different sides of their emotional spectrum as well.

Sage's Little Book of Gemstones and Their Meanings

Earlier this year, I published one of my very first eBooks! It is called Sage's Little Book of Gemstones and Their Meanings.  This interesting little book will give you some background about the history and lore of some of the world's most popular gemstones and crystals. It also reveals birthstones for each month of the year, and gives some practical advice on how to choose a gem to use as your own personal power stone.

You can buy the book here at Smashwords (in any format you need), or purchase it at Amazon for Kindle.  I hope that you enjoy it! :)

Meaning of a Black, White, or Grey Aura

Black and white are not technically part of the color spectrum, but shades of those hues, including metallics and grays, are often prevalent in auras of all types.

People with these colors may be troubled.  Blacks, greys, and whites are often temporary or transitional auric presences that appear during times of great emotion and drama: either for good or for ill.

A silvery-grey color is often associated with a strong mind-body connection.  People who practice yoga, faith healing, or other forms of spiritual-physical improvement programs will often have shades of this color within their auric presence.

Black is a troubling color to see, as it often indicates extreme emotional or spiritual stress.  Those who are experiencing a crisis, abuse, addiction, or depression can reveal black within their auras.  Again, this is a transitional color, and as the spirit heals, so too can the aura.  Try some aura cleansing rituals if you need a positive change.

Heather grey can indicate a prolonged illness or a tendency toward pessimism, despite the experiences of the aura bearer.  It can also indicate a highly sensitive and fragile state of being which may need extra care.

Charcoal grey is seen in the auras of people with more severe depression, mental illness, or even suicidal tendencies.  It can also present in people who are feeling trapped and hopeless in their lives or situations.  These people need tending and nurturing, and more importantly, to find the ability to climb out of such a state before the aura darkens further.

White is a shade that is seen often in people who are seeking spiritual truth.  There can also be a shyness or introspection that sets these people apart from the rest of the crowd.  People with white in their auras may also be protected by a guardian angel, benevolent spirit, or bestowed with good fortune.

People may ask what a black aura means, what a grey aura looks like, or the meaning of a white aura.  The truth is that all of these colors and more can be incorporated in their aura patterns.  You're unique and have many different facets!

The Meaning of a Pink Aura

Pink is a pale, yet warm color within the aura spectrum. It reflects the passion of red, yet with a light and positive spin all its own. Corresponding to the element of fire and to the Root chakra, pink is a shade positivity, harmony, and love.

People with pink auras tend to be generally happy with their lives, or they strive to maintain positivity even in more negative and difficult circumstances.  Pink aura bearers can also thrive when being allowed to share their happiness with others.  As it does have an echo of a red auric energy, there is also a creative and determined vibration to this shade as well.

Pale pink is a light and bright pink shade.  When present in an aura, pale pink can indicate a loving and caring presence.  This person may be a natural healer and nurturer, striving to make the world a better place.  However, this person may also be unrealistic, with a tendency to over- or underestimate the reality of a situation.

Rose pink is a deeper, red-hued shade of pink.  A bearer of this aura often has a high level of trust and faith in other people, and may work very hard to help inspire or cultivate greatness in others.  Such selflessness may come with a price, however; a rose pink aura bearer may find that at the end of the day, there is nothing left for him or her!  This can create resentment or passive-aggressive methods of acting out.  You can do these aura polishing techniques if you are in need of extra help.

Salmon pink takes the positive and uplifting qualities of pink, and combines them with the energetic powerhouse of orange (red's passion and yellow's natural people skills).  Such a person may be useful in bringing out the very best in others and would do well in an altruistic line of work.

Lavender pink auras are not often seen as a permanent fixture, but this unusual color tends to be present in those with very sensual interests.  These folks may have a tendency to overindulge in sensual activities -- be it sex, good food, or overspending -- they love pleasure and work avidly to seek it.  While this joy and conviviality is often contagious, it can be self-detrimental as well.  Moderation is the key.

Mauve is a dusty shade of pink which can often indicate innocence, trustfulness and faith in others, as well as an interest in being viewed as a trustworthy and moral person.  However, on the negative side of this aura, is the tendency to be taken advantage of without learning many lessons from it.  This aura has the potential to grow into a stronger and clearer pink shade with age and education about the ways of the world.   aura is seen as one of the more quintessential orange aura shades. There is a clarity of vision and understanding associated with it, as well as bravery and inner strength.

The next time that you wonder what a pink aura means, you only have to look inward.  Each aura is unique, and aura patterns can contain many different shades of all colors.  Do what feels right for you!

The Brown Aura Color and Its Meanings

Brown is a deep, tranquil, and earthy hue within the auric spectrum. It is generally thought to be a combination of darkest orange, with a bit of green or blue energy thrown in for good measure.  Corresponding to the earth, it is a color of practicality, warmth, and persistence.

People with a brown aura, regardless of the shade of brown represented or the amount of within the aura, tend to be very businesslike and careful, but nurturing and generally interested in helping others. They are often very brave, and wonderful team players. On the negative side, however, despite their best or most loving intentions, brown aura individuals may have control issues or anxiety.  Brown aura bearers can also be of delicate constitution, needing extra time to charge their emotional batteries.

Light brown auras are a good example of the caring nurturer with a practical approach to solving problems.  The lighter color may indicate that the aura bearer is running out of energy, or is coming to the end of a major issue in his or her life.

Tan, like light brown, also symbolizes a depleted sense of energy.  However, a tan aura bearer tends to be less focused on feelings and emotions, and more concerned with logic and facts in order to achieve goals.

Greyish brown (mushroom color) is another shade that shows a deficiency in personal energy.  Brown aura bearers tend to deplete themselves quickly, so they need to take extra energy.  This shade indicates a slower and more careful thought process, in an attempt to pace him- or herself.  Try some aura polishing techniques if you need a positive change.

Chocolate is a common shade for the environmentally conscious, outdoorsy type of person.  This person can recharge those batteries by connecting with the earth, plants and animals.

Rusty brown can be indicative of a tough-as-nails, persistent person who will fight through anything to achieve his or her goals.  The addition of a red essence in this shade boosts the aura bearer's natural "brown" tendency to fade quickly.  There is an aggression here that can be channeled positively.

Reddish-clay brown aura bearers show persistence and grace under pressure, as well as a pioneering spirit and an unconventional nature.  However, there is also the tendency for a short temper or stubbornness to rear an ugly head occasionally.

Espresso brown is a calm, quiet shade that gives its bearer a simple elegance and a lot of common sense.  There may not be too many original ideas coming from this bearer, however the logic of such an individual is quite valuable when processing or improving upon ideas from other sources.

The next time that you wonder what a brown aura means, you only have to look inward.  Each aura is unique,  and aura patterns can contain many different shades of brown.  Do what feels right for you!
