Harnessing the Power of Positivity with The Herban Yogi

We’re all on our own journeys of self-discovery. Each one of us may be called to do something different, but when I come across tools that I feel my readers can use, I always get excited to share them. The world is filled with amazing ideas, and some sources are just too good not to share!

This is certainly the case with The Herban Yogi and his podcast, The Mental Health Cypher. Powered by podcast app, Anchor, The Herban Yogi has taken his passion for self-improvement and merged it with his naturally positive personality to create a show like no other. This is more than a mere podcast; it can be a tool for exploration of your soul. Each episode is filled with tips and ideas to change your mindset, bring the magic of positivity into your life, yet grounded to keep you focused on those all-important goals. There are also fascinating interviews with awesomely inspiring people that share their own experiences to give the audience a brand new perspective.

This show is more than just informative, it’s entertaining and engaging. It is filled with wise metaphysical insights for self-development. The conversations we enjoy are like those of old friends with wise advice and supportive encouragement. And there are plenty of laughs along the way, too! The Herban Yogi lays out his philosophies on life the way a professional chef sets a lavish meal; and we, the partygoers, are treated to a feast that nourishes the heart and soul. Whether you’re spiritual and seeking enlightenment, questioning your own beliefs, or just looking to be inspired, The Mental Health Cypher will fit the bill perfectly. Enjoy it!

Ashley Cole is a Blogger to Watch!

Ashley Cole bravely takes risks to
entertain and teach his readers.
On any typical Monday morning, the average citizen of the world rolls out of bed and prepares for another boring start to a run-of-the-mill week. A quick glance at any news headlines will show a lot of the same happenings, only with different headlines designed to capture each reader’s attention. Regardless of the news source, each and everyone of these people have something in common: they are overwhelmed. Bad news seems to be the most sensational topic on any newspaper page in modern times.

Blogger Ashley Cole is on a one-man mission to change that boring narrative. He takes risks with his writing, and it shows. Armed with a sharp wit, a light heart, and a sparkling sense of humor, Ashley is taking the blogging world by storm. His articles are amusing, but always filled with interesting insights about the human condition, and how we can all enjoy life to the fullest as we strive to be our best selves.

Ashley uses intelligence and humor to motivate his readers while educating them as well. His articles aren’t just catchy headlines; there’s a heart of gold in every one. “They’re fun, light reads with hidden life lessons and inspiration,” he explains of his articles.

With the launch of Ashley’s new project, website ItsAshleyCole.com, he’s passing his wisdom and wit along to all readers who are interested in coming along for the ride. Check out his website, but be warned, your laughter may cause a distraction for those around you. Enjoy it responsibly!

Brainstorm Pro: A Blogger's Best Friend!

By now, most of you know very well about the type of person I am.  I blog, I write books, and I'm all over social media sharing helpful tips and little bits of information to make life a little easier and a lot more fun.  My blog is often a platform for me to share information and thoughts with fellow creative people.  So, when I come across a valuable resource, I love to let you all in on my discoveries!

One of the things that really bugs me at times is writer's block -- and in my line of work, where it's "publish or perish," that can really be some cause for concern.  A lot of times, my brain is so packed with ideas… but it's so hard to actually get them onto the page!  Even us wordsmiths can sometimes have trouble finding the right words for our craft.  (I visit Thesaurus.com more times during a writing session that I care to admit!)

Enter the fantastically helpful software, "Brainstorm Pro," by my friend Jesse Gilbert.  When you're searching for just the right word, simply use Brainstorm Pro to help point you in the right direction.  This tool is specifically designed to help word lovers like me to find just what we need quickly, with no drama, no waiting for web pages to load, and no ambiguity.  Brainstorm Pro enables me to keep my writing filled with that new-pronoun smell, and that factory-fresh adjective flavor that all writers crave.

Currently, this helpful tool is available for the Windows & MS Word platform, but a Mac version is coming soon.  I can't wait!  Check it out here for a free download and start brainstorming!

"Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about."

Writer Regina Brett's life lessons are great little nuggets of wisdom.  There's something for everyone!  I'll be reflecting on this week's lesson:  "Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about."

Does your life feel like it's so much harder than everyone else's?  Are you constantly looking around at your friends, your family, and those people on Facebook that you went to school with and thinking, "Damn, these people have perfect lives!"  The truth is that we really don't know what someone's life looks like on the inside.  The person in public who brags about their wealth, their great marriage, or their amazing kids may be doing just that -- bragging.  Who knows what really happens when they walk through their front doors?  The same can be said for someone who smiles and tries to seem brave when life is throwing them some hard times.  We can also try to be more understanding of those who complain when their lives seem so effortless; the truth is that we just don't know what someone else's life is truly like.  Stop comparing your own to something that you don't fully understand.  Don't judge.  Life is hard enough for all of us.

Happy Birthday, Aries!

Birthday greetings to our strong and competitive adversary (or lover!), the awesome Aries!

Ruled by Mars, Aries are naturally full of energy, and love being "first" in everything.  Aries people tend to be strong and physically robust; they love a challenge in any form.  Whether it's a physically competitive sport or a bracing game of chess, the Aries can't resist jumping in to play! Independence and a pioneering spirit comes naturally to the Aries.  At times, people may find that Aries enthusiasm annoying, but rest assured, there is seldom malice behind it.  Aries are also pretty bad liars, so they tend to be honest and forthright; they also trust other people to do the same.  They are just high-energy performers, and they expect the best from themselves as much as they do from others.  An Aries can inspire others with their natural vibrance and their interest in people around them.

These are the pioneers of the zodiac!  With an Aries by your side, you've got an exciting and awesome friend in your life. :)

Happy Birthday, Aries friends!  We love you!

S.  I made some cute birthday images of each zodiac sign... keep checking back all year for more!  I hope that you enjoy these!  They're licensed under "Creative Commons" (non-commercial only) so feel free to share them and use them for personal stuff on Facebook, Myspace, or wherever you like to network with your friends.  Have fun!

Twitter Help Badges!

I got my Twitter account a couple of months ago, but haven't really used it much.  During the past 2 weeks, though, I've been logging on each night and scanning the world's tweets for people in need of help -- questions that need answers, advice that is sought... and sometimes, if I pick up some good energy, I will tweet back with a constructive and positive answer.  I've gained about 15 followers in the last few weeks alone, mostly people who enjoy hearing what I have to say or those who have had a nice chat with me.  It feels good to actually CONNECT with those who follow me, or people who are just being conversational.  I don't want a BS Twitter account with a bunch of people never hear from me personally.  (I've also enjoyed doing my recent weekend horoscope.  Maybe I'll start making it a weekly thing if I have time, who knows?)

Anyway... today, I'm so excited to announce that I've been awarded the Twithelp "Bronze Helper Badge" for my recent Twitter interactions!  Yeah! :)

I've always felt that helping others was its own reward, and I still do.  But nevertheless, I still appreciate the recognition.  Thanks, @Twithelpme and @Twithelpbot! :)

When I tweeted my badge success, I earned another one for using the help app.  Feels a tiny bit like a "certificate of participation," but what the heck... I've earned it, so here it is! :)

Here's my page on Twithelp.me for those of you who are interested.  I look forward to helping other people, and I have to admit, it would be nice to collect some badges along the way.  But giving assistance is also pretty awesome in and of itself. :)
