What Does a Purple or Violet Aura Mean?

Purple or violet is a cool, deep color within the aura spectrum, though it also has elements of warmth to it as well.  This hue corresponds to the elements of both fire and water, as it combines the deep passion of red with the mellow tranquility of blue. Purple  corresponds to the Crown chakra, and is a versatile and visionary  color.  People with a violet or purple aura are the wise and visionary souls of the auric spectrum.  A purple aura is typically a lover of humanity, a wise person who loves knowledge, and potentially intuitive. There is also an ability to organize and direct others well.

Lavender is a pale violet-like shade of purple. It is an airy and lighthearted color, indicating innocence and trust.  Lavender spots or halo around someone can also indicate a recent near-death experience.

Lilac is another pastel violet shade.  It possesses more pink than lavender, but with a definite pale purple hue.  Within an aura, this color symbolizes security without haughtiness, and a personal sense of spiritual stability.  These people are confident and natural leaders.

Magenta is like lilac with the volume turned way, way up! People with magenta in their auric presence have a distinct sense of originality and a pioneering spirit.  This is the color that is most prominent in entrepreneurs, inventors, and other visionaries.  This can be an aggressive color, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing.  They can be so unconventional that they are often perceived as crazy and kooky, yet there is often a method to their madness.  Try some aura polishing techniques if you need to slow down a bit.

Mauve
is a dusty mixture of magenta and lilac.  It's a soft, soothing color that is actually a close cousin of the pink aura bearer.  A mauve aura indicates honesty, yet modesty, and a certain understated helpfulness.  There is much quiet beauty and unspoken confidence in this auric energy.

Royal purple is bold and luscious, as is the person who shows this aura shade in their auric field.  There is a dreamy, imaginative quality in this shade which can prompt its bearer to be blessed with an amazing sense of vision.  This is another entrepreneurial, pioneering aura, yet care must be taken that this person does not spend his or her entire life dreaming and making big plans without following through!  Like a king or a queen, this person is bold and dynamic, with a flair for imagination.  Look for other aura colors to help strike a balance; with the proper motivation, or by seeking practical cohorts, these visions can be brought into reality.

Grape violet is a paler shade of royal, with a bit of dustiness to it.  It is still rather bold, but with less of an edge.  There is the bold visionary spirit present in royal shades, yet there is more idleness.  These are often folks who have big plans and dreams, yet much trouble following through or bringing those thoughts into any meaningful practice.  Laziness can be the downfall of the grape-hued aura, but with dedication and a desire to work through the troubled spots, this can be modified to a more positive violet hue.

Darkest violet purple is a deep, dark, intense version of royal purple.  It can be so dark that you might compare it to a purple midnight sky. This color has the humility and vision that accompanies most purple shades, but as the darkest shade on the purple auric spectrum, it is also one of the most powerful.  These are the true visionaries of the world.  Many psychics (including yours truly!) possess a dark violet or purple aura which indicates a mystic sense of empathy as well as a deep desire to aid and comfort others.

Many people want to know, "What does a purple aura mean?" And hopefully, I have answered this question.  All auras are unique.  Every aura is different, and different things may work for various aura colors and aura patterns.  Do what feels right for you!

    1. Hi :) It's not uncommon for a person's aura to change when he or she is feeling strong emotions or going through something that elicits a lot of different feelings. So I'd say that's a pretty normal, healthy aura you've got there! Purple auras are awesome! :)

    2. I recently started developing a dark violet energy within my aura and this spirit is most amazing to be in the presence of, I had no idea what it was aside from simply enjoying the presence of its flavor thank you very much

  2. Can I email you a picture? Recently had a aura photography done, and she said it was a purple mix with blue and silvers. Just want a second oppionion if you don't mind.
Also even though it says purple are leaders however sometimes I don't like leading others and just want to be alone. It gets tiring being the one leading, it's like people are waiting for me to say a big speech.

    1. Hi! :) I'd be happy to take a look for you and give you an opinion. :) My aura is also mostly purple (well, like a dark purple with red & magenta "blobs" in it!) and I can definitely get drained easily at times. I think this is probably because purples can pick up and understand feelings & energy of those around us, so naturally we'd get tired from time to time. You can email me at ConsultTheSage(~*at*~)yahoo.com, I would love to see the picture.

  3. Hi! Funny, the last post in this thread was on my birthday. Not sure if it has a meaning, just thought it was interesting. I do not see aura's, although I am extremely sensitive to the emotions and spiritual state of those around me, to the point where this manifests as empathy and post-cognition. A very close friend of mine, however, who does see auras, described mine as a deep purple with navy blue and red tones to it. Reading your posts on aura colors, this actually describes my personality very well. Also, may explain why I am very in tune with both water and fire. I find this sort of thing very interesting as I have been sensitive to the spiritual side of things all my life. Am in the process of training my niece who at age 7 is beginning to get clairvoyant flashes and visions.

    1. That's awesome! I don't see auras either, I just kind of "feel" them. Mine's a dark purple with... well, what I can only describe as magenta/red "blobs" sort of floating around. Purples can be really sensitive to other people's emotions, and sometimes just being in a crowd or at a large party can be a bit draining (even if it's fun, the energy going around can get crazy!)... How are you training your niece? In my family, we mostly just talked about things and I read a lot. I think my mother was at something of a loss on what to do with me! ;)

  4. My pediatrician actually gave my mother a diagnosis of extra sensory perception for me, when I went to him with the beginning of ulcers in the 6th grade. It was the whole empathy thing coming out. The good thing is we have a long familial line of spiritual sensitivity. My great grandmother was actually a wise woman in the area she lived in. So my mom knew what to expect with me. Essentially, the same sort of thing happened when my niece first started having visions, my mother and I sat down with her and told her that we both saw things as well and that it was a family gift. Essentially, at this point, I am just letting her know that it is not something to be afraid of, that it is actually a blessing and is God's way of letting us know what's going on with the people we love so that we can take better care of them.

  9. I have a question about auras. I`ve never thought about them, had a reading, or anything. Anyway, I work as a mechanic and was washing my hands to get ready for lunch and as I was washing my hands I looked down at my hands and there was a purple glow on my hands up to just past my wrists. It was even in color and even in how far it extended past my hands. What does something like that mean.

  10. My aura is emerald green while at rest. During ritual magick or intense focus my aura expands outward into a bright mix of purples, indigo, greens, and sapphire blues. My cousin is sensitive to auras and sees them all the time. She said that my aura puts off sparks of bright light that make her eyes water, and she can't focus on it because it overwhelms her. She said that it was filling the entire room, and asked me to stop focusing. What does this mean? Sometimes I feel like there is a great power sleeping inside me that I'm not ready to handle. Could this be why I'm unable to contain my aura during periods of intense focus?

  12. I recently had a reading with a psychic/medium. She said my aura was a beautiful purple on the right side. On the left side there was yellow with green and that those colors were sort of twirling and intermingling. She also said that the Arch Angel Gabriel was on the left side guiding me with 5 other guides around me. I don't know much about auras, but is it unusual to have such a difference in colors from left to right?

    1. having rainbow colors is good but balanced. Your works or feelings or something is imbalance, so you should give some time to life and career or any work equally. how much importance you give to others, give to your-self too. Or may be i am wrong, but i felt. Anyway i can't feel my aura but i can see it with ordinary eyes, and it is 1 inch pure purple and changes only at time of any stress or anger. But now i can't do anger, i have to control my-self immediately, if not it is effecting to some-other who are having same quality unknowingly. I got awaken just like that, without any meditation, must be due to giving free time to my-self? more you are in still without any visualization, thought or feeling, the more balance and truth you become. I already manifested my works and goals through visualization technique, if i believe in me, it is becoming truth. So i am in much control, still learning, if not so, anything can come to my life with my unaware feelings. So Auras change, cause they are reflection of our truth, they are detectors of our life, use them for good and peaceful life. I never did any practice, it happened by silence, ancient readings, and my belief system. Proof is my aura. Now you can take it granted, but believe your-self, not others words, cause they have 50% of truth and rest in your way of self-test and learning process in still and silent pattern, this is supreme, in-describable, but i felt with inner shock, what people called consciousness lol.

  16. Hi I've been having random visual purple (rhodopsin) and was wondering if anybody experiences this. Sometimes I get it at not so random times like when I flick on a light switch. I suspect it is coming from an external source (a UFO?) that is interacting with my brain somehow (via a microchip maybe?). Anyhow just thought I'd share.
