Since ancient times, even the most primitive people have had spiritual beliefs. Sometimes, the spiritual customs of a people would be called wishes, prayers, even spells, hexes, or curses.
Of Spells...
A spell is basically the same as a wish or a prayer. Basic magickal workings involve rituals of some type. Most of these involve the spoken word. Words are thought to be manifestations of thoughts, which may in turn bring about desired deeds or tangible manifestations, whether good or ill. Words and prayers hold power within them, as any religious officiant can tell you.
Physical rituals can be combined with these words to add a dramatic flair or to specify to the universe more information about the desired outcome. This type of ritual is called "sympathetic magick." However, rituals needn't be this complicated. A few spoken words, a few moments of meditation, even a hand gesture or two may be considered enough for a ritual to be effective.
When a magickal ritual was considered effective, the actions which were taken to bring about the desired outcome would be written down or recorded in some way, so that they could be used in the future. And in this way, the practitioner's Book of Shadows was born.
Ancient Egypt is one of the best examples of the early recording of spellwork. Rituals were written, complete with ingredients and directions about how to intone any specific words which were used. Here is an example of an ancient Egyptian spell that was used in order to counteract or to protect against food poisoning:
O Sakhmet of yesterday, Wadjet of today,
You have come and replenished this table of [name]
Just as you did for your father Re, when you came forth from the cult city of Pe.
Protect [name] with that papyrus wand of life which is in your hand, in that name of yours of Wadjet.
Shoot your arrow against all the food of him who shall speak against [name] by means of any evil matters. Let a slaughter be made of them, like that time when you overpowered the enemies of Re in the primordial age, in that name of yours of Sakhmet.
Your offerings belong to [name]
He is Re from whom you came forth.
So long as he exists, you will exist, and vice versa!
Of Hexes...
A spell is said to stay enforced until it the power is specifically neutralized or cut off, either through the original spellcaster, or through another who works to neutralize negative energy. It can also dissipate naturally if the practitioner does not continue to supply the energy or direction. Spells and hexes will fizzle out over time if they are not reinforced. Naturally, strong belief in this magick is a key component to its effectiveness.
Hexes are also known as curses. As with spells, hexes are also thoughts, words, or rituals -- or a combination of all three -- which are expressed or used for a specific outcome. Hexes, unlike spells, are always the projection of negative energy including hate, fear, jealousy, or any other destructive, negative emotion or intention. The more energy that is gathered and directed toward a spell or a hex, the more power it is said to have.
Belief is also a necessary component of this type of magick as well. Fear or uncertainty, whether conscious or unconscious, can intensify the ill effects for the recipient of such a spell.
It is also a said that negative energy acts like a magnet, attracting more negative energy to the one who has cast the hex. Therefore, you must be extremely careful when you choose to work this type of dark magick, as it will almost certainly backfire and wind up hurting you even more than the person against whom you are casting. When at all possible, choose to cast benevolent and loving spells rather than vengeful or harmful hexes.

Is It Bad to Cast Spells?
People often wonder if spellcasting is bad, evil, or demonic. Some folks just naturally assume that spell work calls on dark or negative forces. However, this isn't really correct. There's a lot more to casting spells.
The first and most important part of determining whether or not spellwork is good or evil is knowing exactly what spellcasting is. Spells are made up of energy which the caster directs or projects into a specific direction, in order to complete a goal or task. There are all sorts of energies which can be sent out by a caster, for good or for ill. In most cases, this energy is all that is directed by the caster, as opposed to the demons or devils which are portrayed in movies and books.
In ancient times, various magickal practices such as voodoo, shamanism, and other forms of sorcery have been practiced by humankind. Just as in any religion or spiritual belief, there are both light and dark aspects of such practices. In all forms of religion, there are intentions to help or to hurt, positive and negative parts of all beliefs. For example: Satanism, which is infamous for its reputation as a dark or evil religion, does use or direct darker energies. But practicioners of other beliefs, such as Wicca or other forms of Paganism, work under the tenet of "Harm None," and thus will use the powers of good and positive energy only. Both types of energy are powerful, and neither is more powerful than another one.
It is true that some practicioners do their spellwork on the dark side, projecting negative force or directing dark energy toward a specific target. Shamans, who can do positive or negative magick, can also project forces out of jealousy, anger, or a wish to possess your spirit or possessions.
Negative energy can also be projected by everyday people without realizing it, and certainly without casting any spells: most forms of hate, desire for revenge, jealousy, and fear can create negative tension which gathers and creates an overriding feeling of negativity or negative energy.
Just as negativity can be spread by these baser emotions, so can positivity be shared with others. A smile, a friendly word, sharing one's happiness or good intentions with another person, all of these things can spread positivity as well. Prayers may be considered another positive form of spellwork, requesting help from a higher power.
Whether you choose to use formal spellwork in your life, remember that the true magic lies within yourself! Sharing your positivity with others will result in a more positive, wonderful life for yourself and those around you.

Do Angels Really Exist?
Although many people believe in angels, there are plenty of others (myself included) who can't help but wonder if they truly exist. Angels are messengers of God, whose purpose is to complete certain assignments. Many people who believe in angels have experienced "divine intervention" at times in their lives when they needed help the most, which makes their faith a reality.
A true "angel" is thought to be a perfect creation of God, specifically crafted to feel the purest love and tender care toward all of God's creations. Angels have innate senses of ethics and morals, and angels are inherently wise as well. An angel has a natural understanding of God's will and how God's rules must be applied to other creatures, because this is the way s/he was created.
Angels and their stories are prevalent in many world religions. When a spiritually devoted person prays, it is an angel's job to hear and carry out God's will in God's stead. This can come in the form of physical assistance, but often it is in the form of emotional or intellectual inspiration for the devotee. The person who is in need of help can feel the peace and healing in his or her heart, or will become inspired to find a way out of the problem s/he is contemplating. Angels can help make those connections for people as well.
I, personally, feel that belief in angels can't possibly hurt, and it may even help. I do believe that spirits exist in the physical realm. And my experience with spirits has shown that most entities who have chosen to remain here on Earth are genuinely interested in helping people. Perhaps these are what some people call "angels." One thing is for certain, however; you will not be helped if you don't ask!

Guardian Angels & Your Pets
I would like to preface this article by thanking FithFath.com for providing access to lovely antique public domain images. I couldn't find any pictures of animals dressed as angels, but did find and color this lovely bunny from "Alice in Wonderland." The name of the image is "white rabbit," though later I realized that I didn't quite color him the right way -- I realized my silly mistake and felt a little dorky. Without even thinking about it, I decided to color the bunny brown so he would match my lovely Siamese sable rabbit, Jarvis. Oh well, he still looks cute anyway!
Some of my friends have been getting me thinking a lot about guardian angels, or benevolent forces and entities which exist to help us on this earthly plane, in order to make our lives safer and more manageable. While I have not yet decided if I believe in angels, the concept itself is fascinating to me (hence, so many articles about them here on ConsultTheSage.Com!). If angels are here to serve us and to protect us from harm, what about our pets? Can angelic power help them as well?
If you're anything like me, you're an animal lover. Pets aren't just random living things which inhabit your home, but are actual parts of your family. I love mine, and in return, I get much love from them. If they were to become ill or lost, I would be devastated. I have cared for my rats and bunnies through illnesses, moves, various personal trials and tribulations. They are a part of me.
Over and over again, I have heard that angels are out there and ready to help us at any time -- we only have to ask them. Apparently, they cannot interfere with our lives unless the situation is dire; but if we voice our needs and wishes, ask the angels directly and out loud, they are honor-bound to do what they can to help us.
A few years back, my mother had lost one of her two beloved Maltese doggies, whom she'd had for years. My mother's dogs are pure-bred Maltese, and so spoiled that they have their own bedroom (and little beds!) at home. These dogs are like my mother's extra children -- they provided comfort and comic relief to all comers when her husband was struggling with lung cancer; and after he was gone, their furry presences continued to give her an immense amount of emotional support. My mother is a steadfast believer in angelic presences, and when her dog was missing, it was only natural that she would ask help from every departed person that she could think of. When I was a child, she once explained to me that whenever she was in trouble, she would ask her late mother for assistance. "After praying to God, I always ask her for help too, because she's my mother! If there's anything she's able to do to help me, I know she'll try to." Makes sense, right? Eventually, my mother's dog did return home, but not after a very long and adventurous journey. How her very pampered little dog was able to survive on his own for as long as he did remains a mystery.
I do believe that fate is involved with animals and how they cross our paths. I've seen this enough times in my own life. Many of my pets seem to have been placed into my life by a divine presence, a knowing entity who understood how seriously I commit to my pets. I have had pets who were very difficult to care for; disabled, very ill, or with behavior issues that I needed to work with. I know that very few people would have the patience to deal with some of these little ones. But somehow or another, I have always been drawn to specific pets or chose just the right time when they were available. It's a double-sided process, though, and we are able to love and heal one another.
If you're looking to aquire a new pet (and please adopt a pet instead of buying one!), check the internet for ideas first. Educate yourself about the animal's care, then start browsing available animals. See if your guardian angel can guide you toward a certain animal -- if you feel a "spark," you're on the right track! Sometimes that "spark" may lead you to a pet who has already been adopted, but that's OK. Perhaps there's someone else nearby that you've just been led toward. This has happened to me several times. I like to keep my eyes and heart open for important signs.
Sometimes pets can get sick. Obviously, anyone would be concerned and stressed when this happens. Don't be afraid to verbalize your need for help to your guardian angel. Even if you know little about your protective entities, say the request out loud -- just ask "(Spirits, angelic presences, or name a relative that you know would love to help you): will you please do what you can to help my sick (dog, cat, bunny, etc.) recover from this illness?" Do your homework, find a great vet (one who specializes in your type of animal!), and have faith. Some illnesses are easy to treat, and some much more difficult. However, it doesn't hurt to ask for help. Even when your pet is just going for a routine checkup, you can request help from your guardian angel to make the visit smooth and easy, and to cause as little stress as possible for your little one.

Your Guardian Angel as a Travel Companion
I enjoy travelling quite a bit. While I'm not your run-of-the-mill globetrotter, I have lived and visited all over the country. Usually I like to go somewhere interesting a couple times a year; it may be the same New England B&B that I love in the spring or the fall, it may be the same big cities that I haunt on my free time, or it might be somewhere completely new and different. But one thing is certain, and that is that I always love to seek new adventures and things to love in all of my journeys.
We've all had to deal with travelling snafus, however. Flight delays, bad weather, missing suitcases, forgotten toothbrushes... it all happens to the best of us, no matter how carefully we may plan.
If you enjoy communicating with your guardian angels, you have to realize that they are always with you. Doesn't matter if you're at home, on a plane to somewhere exotic and fabulous, or just walking down a lonely road... they watch and listen closely. Your angel is there to assist you in any way that s/he can. However, most angels are not capable of serving without being asked, unless it is a life-threatening scenario. If it's a different sort of problem, you need only ask.
This is super simple! While you pack, just ask for help in remembering all the stuff that you need. Or on the way to the airport, simply ask "Angel, I'd like to request a smooth and safe trip to my destination. Thanks!" It's important that, just as asking any friend for a favor, you express gratitude for the help you are given.
Enjoy bringing your spiritual companion on trips with you. Have fun!

Finding St. Anthony
St. Anthony of Padua was actually born in Lisbon, Portugal; but he died in Padua and is interred there at his basilica. He was born Fernando Martins de Bulhoes, and came from a wealthy noble family in Lisbon. Young Fernando was educated at fine parochial schools, and decided to become a priest.
Around 1219, Fernando befriended some Franciscan priests who eventually became killed for their Christian beliefs. He was so touched by the heroic sacrifice of these men, that Fernando requested permission to join their order. He then became known as Anthony, in honor of St. Anthony the Great, after whom his order's chapel was named. Anthony had planned a pilgrimage to Morocco, but because of illness, he stayed in Italy and continued his work there. He travelled all over Italy -- Sicily, Tuscany, and Romagna where he stayed for awhile, unable to travel because of his poor health. It was there in the San Paolo hospice that he worked in the kitchen, learning, praying, and helping the other priests and comforting the patients.
His preaching abilities became known around the time when the Franciscans had hosted some Dominican priests as guests. The Franciscans had expected the Dominicans to preside over their religious services, however they had come unprepared. Anthony stepped up to deliver the sermon -- everyone was simply blown away by his powerful voice, charismatic presence, and the depth of feeling that his sermon contained. His superior then assigned Anthony to preach in northern Italy, where he met the founder of the Franciscan order, St. Francis of Assisi. He continued teaching and preaching in northern Italy and the south of France, until his passing in 1231. He was 36 years old. St. Anthony was canonized a year later, in 1232.
Saints are often exhumed after some time passes, and St. Anthony was no exception. Although most of his body showed typical signs of decomposition, his tongue seemed to be in perfect shape as if it were still alive. St. Anthony's tongue, jawbone, and vocal cords -- which many say represent the divine gift of his preaching abilities, are all still displayed in the basilica which was named after him.
Today, we associate St. Anthony with lost people, spirits, and objects. He is known as the Patron Saint of the Lost, and can help us find things that we're having trouble finding. The simplest prayer to St. Anthony that I know, which was used regularly in my childhood home, is: "Dear St. Anthony, please come around; something is lost and needs to be found." Some people are even more informal with this saint, using this rhyme: "Tony, Tony, come around; something's lost and can't be found." Some may consider using a nickname for a saint to be rather disrespectful, but others have maintained that using such a casual form of address is a form of friendly affection.
Here's another prayer to restore lost objects; it's longer than the simple one-liners.
O blessed St. Anthony, the grace of God has made you a powerful advocate in all our needs and the patron for the restoring of things lost or stolen. I turn to you today with childlike love and deep confidence. You have helped countless children of God to find the things they have lost, material things, and, more importantly, the things of the spirit: faith, hope, and love. I come to you with confidence; help me in my present need. I recommend what I have lost to your care, in the hope that God will restore it to me, if it is His holy Will.

Spells, Prayers, and Rituals Defined
In the simplest sense, all spiritual practices, such as wishes, rituals, spells, and prayers, are all essentially the same. They are thoughts which we consciously guide toward a certain direction; when we pray or practice spiritual activities, they have the power to change our very lives.
When you are requesting help from the divine in order to achieve a certain goal, each request and thought can have a very specific effect in the form of your desired outcome. If you ask for a spell, ritual, or prayer to be performed for you -- or you practice this yourself -- you are requesting divine intervention to help repair an area of your life which you feel needs a little help. Therefore, you must understand that wishes, prayers, and other rituals are very important practices. These are spiritual tools which are designed for serious and specific purposes.
Throughout human history, we have used these types of practices across all cultures. Spiritual practices such as alchemy, reiki, shamanism, druidry, kabbalah, wicca, santeria, voodoo, prayer, hoodoo, hermeticism, religions of all types, and more have been instruments to affect changes. Even the simple power of positive thought and meditation can be beneficial in times of turbulence or whenever a life change is needed.
Some spiritual and religious practices benefit from the use of tools such as talismans or other tangible items for more effectiveness. These can include candles, herbs, religious amulets, the drawing of symbols (such as Christians making the sign of the cross), and many other types of methods to manifest change. However, you do not always need to use "hard" goods for these purposes. It can be as easy as putting your hands together and praying, or sitting in a comfortable spot to meditate and reflect on manifesting the desired changes. Requesting aid from your higher power, or any Divine presence that you choose to work with, is the most important aspect of any spell, prayer, or ritual. The other items may help to center or focus the requester, but they are powerless without the intention within you.

Fertility Treatment & Crystal Therapy
I've heard that some people who have trouble conceiving have given "crystal therapy" a shot to help. One of the most common complaints that a new age healer will address is fertility issues. Couples who are trying to conceive have often tried anything that they think may help. Since many problems with the human reproductive system revolve around stress-based ailments, I see no harm in giving crystal-based rituals a try for relaxation and for paving the way so that conventional medicine practices can do their jobs even better!
The first step in crystal therapy to aid fertility is to select the stone that is right for the job. Some stones are said to be especially powerful for women and female complaints, such as Jade, moonstones of all colors (but especially white and raibow hues), quartz in pinks and purples such as rose quartz. Many people choose shapes that are evocative of reproductive symbols, such as an egg or perhaps carvings of Venus of Willendorf or other feminine symbols. However, this is up to you -- use what makes you feel comfortable. Stones for male fertility should be selected from gemstones which have a reputation for masculine energy enhancement: pyrite stones, gold, and tiger's eye are all great choices. Again, shape is a nice touch; if you come across "lingam" type stones, or anything vaguely phallic, go ahead and give it a try. I feel that the composition of the stone is a lot more important than a pretty shape. But again, you may be the type who gets really into the esthetics. If so, do what you like!
Once you have your stones, select a nice resting place for them somewhere in your home. If you have an altar for meditation or some place where you place important things, add the stones. I've heard that some people create "nests" for their implements in fertility rituals, which I think sounds like a lovely idea. Customize and personalize your stone with your own specific energy signature, as I've described in a previous article.
Then, consecrate your fertility nest as well, dedicating the area to love, healing, and fertile energies. Then place the stones inside, and visit each day to meditate -- you and your partner should both choose times, seperately or together, to visit and contemplate, to direct abundant and fertile energy toward the subject at hand. Remember that the space you choose to place your nest should be peaceful and calm; it should make you feel safe and reaffirm your dedication to the act of conception.

Prayer to St. Theresa
This particular entry is actually a chain letter that's been going around; you don't have to use it as a chain letter, though. It's provided here just to give you a bit of background on this interesting saint. I may do a bit more research on St. Theresa and add more information to a later entry. :)
Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways. Meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love. She is also the patron Saint of flower growers and florists. She is represented by roses. May everyone be blessed who receives this message. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of reward.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.....
May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and
pass on the love that has been given to you....
May you be content knowing you are a child of God....
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow
your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is
there for each and every one of you....

Basic Psychic Protection
This article was written by Jay from Mannanan.net and was emailed to me by a colleague of mine. I enjoyed the suggestions so much that I thought it'd prove to be very useful to my readers and friends. Enjoy!
Basic Psychic Protection
Basic psychic protection acts as an energy that wraps around us. The purpose of this energy is ultimately to block out all intrusive or malicious vibrations that come from other sources. As one begins to practice magic or any psychic art, their awareness of the world's energies increases greatly. With this newfound sensitivity comes exposure to a new realm of distractions. Astral entities may be attracted to your increased energy or activities. Other practitioners may notice you as well. Not all of these personalities may wish you harm, but it is best to be prepared with psychic protection, just in case.
Bubble Technique
The most basic technique for protecting oneself magically is to simply imagine yourself inside a ball of white light that turns away any energy before it can touch you. When you visualize this ball of light around you, you want to make sure it appears opaque and solid in your mind's eye. This bubble should extend about a foot above your head and at least 6 inches below your feet. It doesn't have to be a perfect sphere; just make it fit around your body in whatever shape seems most comfortable or appropriate. You want to enforce the energy in the areas above and below to be just as strong as the areas in front and behind you. Rest assured that even after you come out of your concentrated state, this bubble will move with you without hindrance. Any vibrations that touch it will simply pass over and around your shield like the wind moving around a mountain. In the rare circumstance that your shield comes up against someone else's, it will bend to compensate, but not break, much like two balloons pressing together. You need to hold the image of an impenetrable force field in your mind for at least a good solid minute or two, before returning to your everyday life.
Mummy Technique
The visualizing of specific shapes forming around your body piece by piece adds focus and resolve to your psychic protection, and this is the basis of the mummy technique. Begin by creating the image of a ball of white light glowing just above your head where the crown chakra or higher-self psychic center is located. Focus on the energy here, willing its intensity to increase. Visualize white light sweeping down from this powerful sphere in the shape of a wide ribbon that begins to wrap around your head. You may want to leave some space between the energy ribbons and your physical body, perhaps 3-4 inches. Have the ribbon continue to wrap around your head, overlapping itself and creating a solid sheet that surrounds your head in protective energy. Don't stop at the head though. Let the ribbon continue to spin around your shoulders, torso, hips, legs all the way down to the feet, making sure to cover every spot so that you are entirely and safely wrapped. Once you've worked your way down to your feet, have it wrap underneath them, completing the blanket surrounding you. When you are completely wrapped, hold the image of what you just did in your mind for a few moments before opening your eyes. This exercise is a great way to improve your skills with energy manipulation while benefiting yourself.
Burning Flame
The Burning Flame is best used in situations that may be dangerous or that you require a great amount of psychic protection over a short period of time. If you are entering a place/meeting/situation with a terrible amount of negativity you can perform this technique. Some people visualize their shields as a fire surrounding them at all times which is fine, although the method presented here is geared toward an emergency situation or on a temporary basis since it uses high amounts of energy.
Stand perfectly upright with your legs together and your arms flat against your side. Go deep inside yourself to the center of your being. Approach all of this with a confident intensity, your mind focused on your need for protection. Find your center and know that in your center is an intense source of energy, the very energy that all your magical abilities come from. With your consciousness in this core of your being, create an eruption of energy within yourself. Like a volcano building up pressure, cause your energy to rise and expand from your center out. As the energy reaches the outside of your body have it burst into a blue flame that surrounds your body. The curved base of the flame should be at your feet and the tip of the flame above your head. The intense energy flame will burn any outside vibrations before they can reach you. This flame won't harm you physically since it's a spiritual flame, but it will stop any other spirit or energy from touching you. Once the flames surround you, try to keep part of your mind focused on it as you proceed through the situation you felt required extra psychic protection. Imagine more energy fanning the flames stronger and higher as you exhale.
As with any of these techniques, practicing first in a safe place is highly recommended.
Chakra Spin Protection
This powerful technique unites the chakras to create a shield fully embedded with all aspect of your will and energy. Begin by visualizing performing the Psychic Center Visualization as detailed in the Energy Techniquesdocument. A quick rehash: Charge the crown chakra, and draw a line down to the 3rd eye chakra. Charge the 3rd eye before drawing a line to the throat. Charge and continue to the heart, charge this chakra and draw a line of white light to the solar plexus chakra. After charging the solar plexus you move to the sex chakra, charge it and then onto the root chakra. As mentioned before, this is an adaptation of the traditional chakra system to have a center between the two feet so draw one more line to the ground center and charge this area. Create two lines of light from this center that swoop to each side of you in an upward curve before connecting with the crown chakra above your head. Begin cycling your energy through the lines timed with your breathing.
Instead of stopping at this point, continue cycling but move your focus to the curved lines at your side. We want to move these two lines simultaneously clockwise so that they being to spin around the body. Let them put out energy as they continue to move faster and faster until their light forms a solid wall of energy that surrounds you. Spin this wall of energy around you for a few moments. When you feel ready, let the image of the chakras fade from your mind, and let the spinning motion end, but hold onto the image of all the energy the chakras surrounded you with.
How often and how long?
You should practice psychic protection techniques at least once a day until your body picks up the habit and begins to naturally reinforce your shields with energy. After a month or two you should be proficient enough that you only need to revisualize your shields once a week. If you find yourself in a particularly nasty situation where you need an extra amount of protection, feel free to shield yourself again even if you had done so earlier in the day. As you become more comfortable and skilled at these techniques you will find it possible to reinforce your shield with little concentration and even while you body is in motion or otherwise distracted.
Colors in Protection
Everyone likes to add a little color to his or her magic. When you give your energy it's own color, you are personalizing it and making it easier for you to relate to. Some people are very firm in the belief that white energy is the purest and therefore is most powerful. Generally white and blue are the most commonly used colors for psychic protection. There may be something to this, but it is always best to listen to your gut. If you feel an urge to have a green shield, then go with it. You can always experiment by changing your shield's color every week. If you find one shade or tone to be more effective than others, then stick with it. There are some generally accepted associations with each color that I'll post on the Temple of Manannan at a later date.
Complex combinations of color can be used to create very strong protection. For example you could make a shield that starts as red at the top of your head and then slowly graduates to orange, yellow, green, blue and then purple when it finally reached your feet. Visualizing such a shield takes strong focus, and holding it this image in your mind's eye as the day goes by can be challenging. Since the appearance of this shield requires much more effort, it is more strongly empowered by your will. Unusual patterns in shields can also aid you in psychic self-defense. Integrating a religious design or an occult symbol that represents protection can add extra strength and power.

Novena to St. Claire
"Novena to Saint Claire"
Pray whether you believe or not and promise to publish or circulate.
Ask for 3 favours: 1 business and 2 impossible.
Say 9 Hail Mary's and the following prayer for 9 nights in front of a lighted candle,
God of mercy you inspired St. Claire with the love of poverty by the help of her prayers. May we follow Christ in poverty of spirit and come to the joyful vision of your glory in the kingdom of heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your son who lives and reigns with the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen
